Verified Reviewer |Horrific experience
My review is long and a horrible experience. You might want to read it to see what could happen to you before you even think about buying from this business.
Our dealership is in Plant City, Florida, which will give you an indication this is going on throughout the country.
In 2019 We had Ecowater Systems come to our house and install a water softener for our home for over $4000. Without our knowledge, they spliced the wires together to have it reach the electrical outlet outside the house. This was approximately 6 ft away from the unit. February 15 of 2020 we noticed it was failing and made an appointment for service.
After getting the run around from the front desk at this company, we paid $227 not only for the service call but, to order a reverse osmosis filter for under the kitchen sink. After scheduling, we endured three no shows and an obstinate front desk of this company over the fact they had taken our money and on one was coming.
On February19, 20200,0 the techs came and started to replace the wiring by splicing it again. Thankfully the tech had a trainer who directed him to go to the service truck and get wiring that would fit. While he was doing that, the trainer came into the kitchen to replace the reverse osmosis filter.
On Saturday, February 20, 2021,1 we woke up to 4 rooms in our home flooded with water.
I called the dealer to get someone out here to clean up the mess, only to be told they dont work weekends. When I suggested he might want to get a damage control company out to deal with the water seeping up through the hardwood flooring, I was told they would be out the following Monday. This left us to try and clean up the mess ourselves with whatever we could find to soak up the excess water.
On Monday the trainer came to the house looked at the filter and said"yes we got a few of these in a truckload' Then asked me to hand over the defective product which I did after taking pictures. He then left.
That was the end of Ecowater's involvement with helping us clean up or repair anything.
It is now December 10, going into the new year and creeping up to February.
Here is what's going on.
Our wood flooring is ruined, there is black mold trapped under the kitchen cabinets, both which are curling and peeling from the wet wood. The appliances, the island, and making its way up the drywall. The family room dining room and living room hardwood floor is separating, splitting.
Our eyes are watering, we are coughing, there is a hanging in the air of mold.
We have been battling with this company for damages since March, producing everything they ask for. I just gave them some pictures, since we became suspicious early on.
After waiting for them to rectify their defective product sale.
We were still ignored and pushed away, including a phone block by their manager. Yes, pictures of that also.
In May, I called a restoration company in to check what was going on. The results were astounding. We were living with invasive black mold and yes it's dangerous.
They also tried to work with this company with no results. The damage was now reaching $50,000 which, could have been prevented.
In May, they tried to close our claim without our knowledge. Heard through a contact, they self-insure themselves.
June, July nothing
August. The Hillsborough Consumer Protection Agency got involved with our very cumbersome file that we produced.
This company is giving them a hard time too. Gaslighting, you might call it.
I have been encouraged to contact all agency's including state and federal for consumer issues with this company which, I'm doing now.
This company is the worst by far. Their product, their customer service, their warranties, their attitude, their employees. Add it all up and it spells horrific.
In short, go to a company that stands behind their product in full view, instead of hiding behind a bush.
They are out there, and they are good, of course anything is better than the mess they created, and then made us live with.
Do your research and you will be very happy.
Too bad your have to give a 1 star on these reviews. They don't deserve that either

Purchased a home in AZ with this water softener and RO system already installed. EcoWater equipment and parts are ONLY available and serviceable by an official EcoWater dealer/distributor.
I contacted the representative listed on the manual (All About Water, Chandler AZ) they installed the units in the home.
Our RO first started leaking and then stoped working. It took over a week to get an appointment. Finally when the tech arrived it was nearly 6pm and we were eating dinner awkward!
The RO manifold needs replacing cost $577 (only 30 day warranty) OR an upgrade was recommended @$1,521.90.
We decided to take some time to think about it and do more research. We paid $95 for the service call and the tech serviced our water softener for an additional $69.
He was sure to tell us our water softener unit was "high end" and cost over 5k new.
I am not sure what's so desirable and great about EcoWater systems?? There seems to be plenty of RO systems available at affordable prices. If I could purchase the manifold part from the company, I could install it myself especially since parts only come with a 30 day warranty.
Costco often offers only the best but in this case I am not sure. Could someone please enlighten me.
- Manual had this distributor listed
- Unreasonably over priced

HORRIBLE SERVICE.... MISTREATMENT BY "MANAGEMENT"
This may be long but worth the read. Please bear with me.
we recently moved to Kansas as a military family. Because of the coronavirus situation there was no available homes inside the military base where we would normally stay. Therefore at the choice of staying in a hotel room indefinitely or renting outside what we could afford but very substandard, my husband and I decided to purchase a home as it would be cheaper and better than renting or waiting. Needless to say, we ended up making a few trips to Home Depot for ideas and supplies for our new home, in one instance, at the entrance of Home Depot, we were asked to put our names down for a $200 gift card drawing.
A few weeks later we received a phone call from HD saying that the drawing would take place in a few weeks but that had been selected to receive a FREE water testing. Of course we jumped in and scheduled that right away. Lo and behold someone shows up to our door at 3:59pm, he was wearing no HD uniform or anything which seemed odd, and he by the name of Spencer Wilson immediately sat down on the floor with my son to play. I was painting the ceiling and my husband was downstairs installing a light fixture.
I called my husband up and that's when Spencer got to business, he wanted to see our water supply, the house came with a water softening system, which he proceeded to tell us it was very old and it was probably not doing anything, then we headed upstairs for the other "tests", he opened his suitcase and immediately began a presentation. One full of engaging questions and conversation all of course with the intent of engaging us and suggestive selling. We are not rude people and of course welcomed him in our home and were trying to be good guests, I stopped painting, the light fixture was put on hold, pretty much everything was stopped to allow this person to administer said tests and our undivided attention. Our home is still empty as we do not have our furniture because it is in transit from our last military installation.
It was a very long, arduous presentation, My 4 year old also kept interrupting because he was bored, it was past dinner time, every one of us was tired from the long day of working on the house, and Spencer was very adamant in his presentation of the Ecowater system. it seemed as though he wouldn't take "No Thanks" for an answer, and my husband and I felt pressured into this purchase. Again, it was late, it was past dinner time for my son, we were tired and not thinking straight and we accepted so we could just get he presentation done with and get some food and much needed rest We agreed to $100.95 per month for the water refiner and the air filtration system for "6 to 8" years, which according to Spencer, the bank would call us the day after with better details on the payments. Spencer left our home at 8:57pm.
5 hours later!!! I have proof of this as time stamps from our surveillance system. Installation took place the very next day on Friday, another 5 hours where I was left alone finish what I couldn't get done the day before because my husband was with the technician and my son. Still no one called from any bank/finacial institution to go over the amount of payments or anything of the sort.
After so much work we took a free day on Saturday to go to the city in search of some lamps and other trinkets for our home. We also took that free day to do some research on this new water refiner system that we had purchased. The research we came up on was very vague, every time we would try to look for prices from Ecowater we were met with "enter your info and we will contact you" message, we talked and did more research and determined that this system was really way over priced, out of our budget and just not right for our lifestyle at the moment, in addition to the big uncertainty of 2 years of payments between "6-8" years which at $100.95 a month, it represented over $2,400. On Sunday as we were back in the home working, we contacted Spencer and apologized for the whole ordeal but asked if we could cancel.
We had until midnight on the 31st to cancel. Sunday was the 30th, Spencer told us he couldn't cancel and would reach out to his manager because they had the authority to cancel. We waited to hear back from Spencer so we reached out again and he confirmed that his regional manager Matt Bump would get in contact with us, and that he normally got to the office at around 10:00 am. Today, Monday 8/31/2020 at 10:09 Matt did call.
we both spoke to him and told him everything I have mentioned above, and he kept asking if there was anything he could do, like maybe lower the payments, we kept telling him we just wanted to cancel and he would keep saying he would call us back and see what he could do for us. This went on and on and on for the day, we spoke to him again at 4:21 pm and again he said his "let me see what I can do for you guys" when we just kept telling him we wanted to cancel. at 6:11, as we were headed back to the hotel for the night (since we still have no furniture) we called again having not heard anything back. He did not answer and I left a message, I mentioned that this was an official cancellation noticed, that I was done playing games, to please come pick up the system and we were done with them.
at 6:21, he called my husband letting him know he had worked out some deal and that we would only pay $49 for the water refiner (they would cancel and retrieve the air filtration system) for 66 months. The total to the water refiner system would then come up to $3,234, which is still way over priced compared to all the other water refiner systems in the market. We again apologized and said thank you but that we wanted to cancel, at that moment Matt got very rude, claimed "this is ridiculous! ok thanks, I'll send someone to remove the system." and hung up.
just like that. Then had the audacity to call back once again and proceed to tell my husband that "he had done the impossible and gotten us a deal of a lifetime and that it was all for nothing". we had been telling him all day that we wanted to CANCEL, and here we are getting the blame over why he went through all of that.
Needless to say I hope this company comes to pick up this system and we are glad not to have to deal with runarounds and rude attitudes from managers who are pushing people into doing what they want them to do. This was certainly a HORRIBLE experience, I couldn't recommend this company to anyone because they mistreat customers when they simply just want to cancel.

Great equipment but filters are proprietary and therefore extremely expensive. I am going to change out our RO system for something else so I can purchase reasonably priced filter replacements. Through ECOWater those filters are about $150 for two!
