Write the refund check to wrong person

We got the system in 2006.Last December system just blow up -destroyed floor..Technicians came-fix the problem-took the check for 180$. After a while, company manager in MN agreed to pay us this 180 $ back...but because the person who file the claim was my mother in law-they write the check on her name not on my husbands or my-actual people who paid to fix the problem and who own the system. When i called to talk with the person who write the check she in very nasty manner said that thats not her problem. They pay to the person who file the claim and they dont have a time to look who own this system or who pay to fix this. Nice practice, right? So im going to contact consumer affair in TN (where i live) along with BBB and i will go from there. And i will NEVER EVER recommend Eco Water to any one except my enemies.

Just curious was this system installed by Advanced Aqua solutions?

Guest

I do not see what the problem is.Are you afraid to ask your mother-in-law for the REFUND that she recieved.Your mother-in-law wrote the check for the claim right. What make's you feel like the check belong's to you.The refund belong's to whom ever filed the claim and Also to who wrote the check.Sound's like you are trying to pull the wool over these people's eye's.Honestly i do not blame your mother-in-law,I would keep the refund to since she had to write the check in the first place.

From my understanding system owners paid ( wrote the check) to fix the problem. Not mother- in- law.

She was the one who file the claim.

Maybe im wrong. But if they paid to fix the problem they own the system- refund should be on theirs name

Guest

And you can't get the money back from your mother in law???

Why did your mother in law file the claim when it was your water softener?

There's something wrong with this story.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-613639

The point is..person who filled the claim get money not person who ownes the system.

Eco water system

We have had nothing but problems with our water system begining the first year. If its not leaking the salt settles to the bottom of the machine. Each time we call for someone to come look at the machine it costs us 60 and that's not including any part we may have to purchase! Obviously the system is ***. Usually you get what you pay for..this is not the case here! Very unhappy no one should purchase this system and they should be out of business! I can say all I need to in less than 100 words but I have to to post my complaint. Still pissed!

Looking at the eERR 3500 system. Was wondering how well this system eliminates chlorine, floride and lowers the acidic levels?? Anyone know of any problems with the carbon mixing with the resin??

Guest

they have the worst sales rep once u buy they dont care about u. my system stopped working automaticly and i have to start it my self.

called them up and they were suppose to call back still waiting. they are full of sssssssssssss, justb like the system the sell.

Guest

My "HydroLink" doesn't work after I changed the batteries. Is there a "reset button" to actuate? :cry

Guest

I have no idea why anyone would down this system. I have had mine for seven years and have had no problems.

Everything the sales guy said was true.

They do come out and put on an dog and pony show at your house, they do "sell" you on the idea of clean water. I have no problem with being "sold" on a great product, and thats what i got, a great product.

Guest

DANGER!! ECO WATER Produces ACIDIC WATER!!!!!

Just happen to be checking the PH Balance of liquids and when I checked my EcoWater "Drinking Water" it had a Ph of 4.5!!!

I was horrified and don't know HOW LONG the water had been ACIDIC! Customer Services was HORRIBLE!Instead of them coming out when I called to complain they Told me it was "impossible" that the water could be that acidic (Note: it was DEFINITELY the ECO WATER SYSTEM becasue my tap water and other bottled water i tested was normal Ph). They told me on two occassions that our rep would call me back and NEVER DID!

They just left us with dangerously ACIDIC water that we can't use and it appears that they would rather IGNORE the issue rather than see WHY or HOW it is testing that way. PLEASE TEST YOUR ECOWATER PH ASAP!!!

Guest

I have had my system in my house for over 20 years, and it is still working great. I did remove the water tank out of the sink for "drinking water" because the filters were too much, and replacing them every 3 mnths was just crazy. If you are having problms call your local plummer tehy are great, I have my system checked every 5 years by them, you get more help that way.

Guest

Had my system over 15 years wiyh very few problems.

Guest

Its amazing to me that you all get on here and down this system. I have had it for three years, no problems, and it does exactly what i was told it would do.

Maybe your sales rep was a lier, but my kid has skin issues and it has completely cleared it up. Not to mention the fact that there is no spots or build up, i love this thing.

Guest

Hey I just had a big deal with them too!!!! screwing up my contract so now i ahve to pay money to get that *** softner out of my house!!

plus the sales rep told me that the refiner would do everything that it doesnt do!!!!!! I hate that place and i will be spreading the word to never go there!!!!!!!

Guest

every time our system regenerated it is leaking some leftover brine into the drinking water. When we called it cost $99!

and they say "there is no problem and also we had bought the wrong system, we need a reverse osmosis system"!

The system is just 16 months old and they are not competent to fix it, so WE made the wrong decision by not buying their most expensive unit!? How *** is that? *** and disrespectful customer service!

NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. Had I known we could have just as well buy a unit from Sears and know that it might not be the best unit.....

EcoWater - Drain Hose Floods Two Closets

Shortly after we purchased our water conditioning unit (P/N: 721****), the company left town leaving us to fend for ourselves. Unfortunately, I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to force action by the company to get installation completed properly. It was, finally. We also encountered problems with their "financing company" even though we paid for the unit in 18 days. I felt like I was dealing with a loan shark on a dary street. The drain hose eventually began dripping into the wall, which we didn't know, until 2 closets and parts of two bedrooms were flooded. Ended up calling the city to have it hauled off!

Well anonymous, it sounds like you have an astoundingly awkward situation happening to you. You would probably have been much better off calling a plumber to remove it from your house, but apparently your city does those types of things.

Not to mention, there aren't many financing companies that would be upset that you paid the unit off in 18 days.... in fact they would be ECSTATIC that you paid off a multi-year loans worth of interest in less than a month. Essentially what I am saying is you're entire story sounds like complete B.S......

except for the... wait no, it all sounds like b.s.

EcoWater: seriously still in business??

My husband and I recently had a sales person come to our house from EcoWater because we had won a free water testing. The salesman was very personable, fun personality and so on. So after 4hours of water testing, we were told that we had to buy the $7495 water treatment system that evening or that price/offer would expire and we would have to pay the retail price of $8000. So my husband and I purchased the system. The next night(Tuesday), we were supposed to have it installed and I decided to back out. The next day(Wednesday), I went to the EcoWater office in Fayetteville, Nc and might I say, the people in the office were very um.. unprofessional and that is putting it nicely. As I was sitting in the lobby, I overheard a conversation between one of the female employees(Jules, whom I later found out was supposedly the owner) on the phone cussing like a sailor, dropping f-bombs, talking so loud that the whole street could have heard, when all the while, she knew I was in the lobby. She didnt even have the decency to come out of the office to talk to me, ask me anything. If I had any questions, I had to ask her employees, who then asked her, and she seemed pissed that I had the audacity to interrupt her important phone call. Needless to say, I completely understand why this company has had soooo many complaints and shocked they are still in business. I called a man by the name of Peter who I guess is a big dog for the company and told him about my experience. That is when I found out that Jules was the owner of the company and was on medication because she is going to have her gal-bladder removed. Wow, I have never heard of an owner of a company talk like that in the presence of a potential customer for an $8000 system. I could have changed my mind, but after an experience like that, nevermind. All I can say, is this totally sounds like a boiler room company and any military personal need to be very careful. Our salesman is prior military and knows how to talk a good game and sounds trustworthy. My husband is military, and trusted him because of his background. Please do your research before signing up with Ecowater. Good Luck!

Total scam! Worked there for about 4 days, left ASAP!

I would rather be homeless then have to deal with unprofessionalism and Jules and her gf being immoral. They had me read a script where we could not deviate bc of it not being "federally approved." The company has since been evicted from its location. There's.

Eviction signs all over the building. Good riddance!

Guest

Honestly, the product is great. I believe in it. Just call the 1-800 number and get the price from the service department.

Guest

I used to run the "marketing" department of this company. It was horrible.

I needed the work, and the owner constantly told me that I would never be able to get another job if I quit. She was horrible. She treated everyone terribly. I ended up quitting after working there for almost 2 years.

I recommend that you don't purchase their products. The owner tells the sales reps to blatantly lie to customers.

Guest

they are a total scam and treat employees like pure ***. the labor board is invesitgating them.

hopefuly the will be shut down. jules is a creature from ***.

DO NOT APPLY TO WORK HERE. ITS AWFULgNpf

Guest

This is an interesting article indeed. I worked for that very same company for a few days as a telemarketer and I have to say the owner was not what I would call a pleasant person.

She was very smug, arrogant, highly self assured. Her only concern seemed to be in harvesting money hand over fist. The turnover rate for small time employees like myself was phenomenal. She was constantly hiring and firing people.

Not a nice person. She would have been right at home in a company like Enron or Countrywide, I'm sure. When she finally let me go I felt like I wanted to go outside and kiss the ground! Of course at the time I didn't know the company had such a poor rating.

I'm not surprised, however. I certainly won't be working for her again.

Best regards.

Guest

I quit with this company after my first day of training. I have never been in the presence of someone so unprofessional in my life, Jules Rosling CEO of the Fayetteville location on Morganton Road cussed more than I would like to hear.

Dropping The "F" Bomb in almost every sentence and talking down to employees. If you are considering going to work there please rethink your options.

Guest

EcoWater is nothing but a scam. These people try to get into your home and make you buy a $8000 system that is probably refurbished in the first place and that they got for thousands less.

I went into the office one day and heard the so called CEO, Julie Rosling I think is her name, cursing at another employee. The poor employee looked like she was about to cry.

I have submitted complaints to their corporate office as well as the Better Business Bureau. Do not get involved!!!

Alisha G Dvv

My complaint has nothing to do with the company or the product itself. It is with the owner or general manager or whoever my husband talked to on the phone after the water testing was done by a great salesperson.

He was such a good salesperson, that if my husband hadn't been called "dumb or dumber" by the general manager, we might be willing to pay $8000 for a Eco Water Treatment system. However, just because we think about our investments before signing papers, apparently we are either "dumb or dumber." Well, using our obviously poor IQ levels, we will do our best to never recommend this place to anyone, only because such rude people do not deserve our good business or that of our friends. I've even signed up for this website specifically to warn others against Eco Water in Fayetteville NC.

Don't reward bad behavior with YOUR money, because you don't know how you'll be treated once it's THEIR money. :(

Guest

I do have some news for most of you that speak badly.. if you work in this kind of business than i will let it pass..

but i bet most of you don't. yes the things that the telemarketers say are scripted. its part of the job. techs is also but most just go with the flow.

the city wants you to think they test it "hourly or weekly"...but got some news for you they DON'T they test it every year because of the fact that it cost money to do it.

just think that is thousands of gallons of water. 2nd yeah some of the workers in the fayetteville have some nasty mouths on them but that is the true nature of people..get over it...yeah they could be more professional about it..but thats who they are..and for those who complain about the telemarkters calling you than put your name on the federal do not call list..now understand this is not to attack people but the way you guys are posting it is kind of like you are attacking the people who work there....we are just trying to make money just like anyone else...for those who bought and love the product we provide thank you guys and i wish you guys the best in the future...if you have any questions regarding the product or water testing please Don't hesitate to ask at your nearest EcoWater building...Thank you and God Bless

Guest

Bought my EcoWater 10 years ago. I am now overdo for a new filter under the sink, and check up on the machine in the garage.

The system was 3,800 back then. The glass on the shower stall has stayed pretty nice, but like I say it's time. Just wanted to see what was going on at this point.

Maybe I'll change the filters by going through Sears myself. ????

Ecowater Systems

They send a card "welcoming" you to the neighborhood claiming that they have a parcel for you. It's really a sales pitch to come to test your water.

Well the sales rep says that he does not have cards and they are supposed to give you a gift certificate. We would have to drive over an hour to go pick it up!!!!!! It's a scam. They charge a monthly fee for a water softener that costs more over the 5 years then putting in a reverse osmosis system for the entire house.

You could drink the water out of your toilet with reverse osmosis but with a water softener you would still need to purify the drinking water. SCAM!!!!!!

If you really want to have truly pure water put a reverse osmosis system in your home. This is the only way you will have pure water coming out of every tap in the house. We went with this option and for only around $6000.00 complete system.

Guest

i love how people who work for the company come back and type little messages like the ones above to try and refute what the complainer said. it makes me laugh, b/c they try and make it look like they're just an average joe trying to throw their 2 cents in.

your product is expensive.

we can just buy juggs of water from walmart for cheaper anyway.

great job scammin folks though ecowater and rainsoft! keep it up

Guest

Hi Mel

Guest

eco water is such a large co. that your going to have people that are never happy.

most of the time is buyer remorse. yes. softeners and filters are expensive. they are also the highest quality of water to give your family.

personally i don't want my children drinking fresno water. but thats just me. i love mine! me and my family have been customer since 1987.

did you ever buy a car and expect free oil changes?

i bet not. also if you think eco is expensive why don't you call rainsoft they are around $11,000.

Guest

You're sales rep obviously didn't explain the difference between water softening and water purification, he might have been new or poorly trained. Regardless there is a definite benefit to softened water.

Eco-335 Water systems

The system works quite well if you can afford the maintenance of replacing the filters. They run betweeen $208-$231 for 3 filters. They certainly aren't up front with you and definitely don't care that you are on a fixed income. They would get more business by lowering the cost of their filters which I am sure they could do. They don't even offer specials on them that I know of. It was easy the first couple of years we had the system to reach someone local. Now when I call I get someone out of state.

Be sure that you are only changing your Pre and Post filter each 6-12 months and the membrane should be good for 3 years.

Expensive maintenance osmosis system

We have had our Eco-335 system for about 5 years. What you are not told is how expensive the filters are to replace. We are retired and it is a burden to buy all of these expensive filters. For 3 filters it runs from $208-$231 each time you have to replace them. The company is difficult to reach unless you deal directly with the office you bought your system from and then it takes lots of time to reach them. My best advice it to not buy this system unless you have money for the filters. The first time they were replaced it was $178. Now it's up considerably.

I have an older sustem undera maintence contract with ecowater for more than 10 yrs. The resin has boke loose not once but twice the last this year cost me to have aplumber come out to clean it out thru the whole house and I have been emptying the hot water heater on many occasions too.

Still have some resin fowing around the system. I thought with this expensive maintainence ever couple of months I was safe but no it is a scam.

I asked for a system change out and was told it would cost me 2000 dollars. :sigh

Guest

I reset my filter counter (900 gallons) every six months and replace the filters every three years. Water in this area is very good so the filters last that long. Total cost when I replace both filters -

Guest

Check for compatible filters on line. There are plenty of sites that offer filters for these units at prices that are much less than what Eco Water Systems charges for them.

Replacing them is a D.I.Y. job - quite simple.

Guest

I totally agree with this! I've had my unit for 2 years and the same information upon my purchase was avoided.

The cost of filters! Not disclosing pertient information is the same as a blatant lie. I will not do business with a company that does business this way!

If I had it to do all over again, I would not use Eco Water Systems again, nor do I recommend them to friends/family. There should be a law against companies doing this to consumers!

Guest

we have the same system. pre- and post- filters must be replaced every 5 to 6 months.

when we call to see when someone at the franchise will be available to purchase the filters, all we get is an answering service (durham, nc).

we have left numerous messages-starting last thurs.-10/28/10-it's 11/3/10 and we still have not received a call back!! if this hadn't cost around $2800-whole house water softener, also, we'd have another sytem a.s.a.p.

Guest

As with any drinking water systems you need to change the filters to maintain the integrity of the product water. You should only have to change the pre and post carbon filter. The center filter or membrane should last at least 5 or more years.

Ecowater

I have a water softner and a reverse osmosis that both came from Ecowater, and I have never had a problem in the 15 years that I have owned them. I am absolutely happy with the product and have never had to have a repair man out to my house to repair my water softener or reverse osmosis. In fact,I had just bought one for my eldery parents, and if I did not believe in the product I would not have bought them. I would gladly own another water softener from Ecowater, and would recommend Ecowater to my freinds and family.

Wher 12 Leaks

Manifold on the Wher 12 leaks. EcoWater Systems expertly denies or delays consumer claims.

I contacted Lowes and Whirlpool distributors of EcoWater Reverse Osmosis System Wher 12 but they have not gotten back to me yet. The Wher 12 design has been changed to the Wher 25 to mitigate the problems, however, when consumer approaches EcoWater Systems, they expertly deny or delay the claims process and consumers are left holding the bag.

I contacted EcoWater Systems and they still have not paid the claim, it has been over 6 months of delays, lies, convient postures at the consumer's expense, denials, hours on hold, threats and just basic harrassment of the consumer to once again deny or delay the claim.

Beware Bueno Company and its free gift

Just had a disastrous meeting with agent from Eco Water of Boone Trail, Fayetteville, NC. The representative (Anita) came out to show us about the hardness of our water.

The prize was a $25 gift certificate for a local restaurant. The first thing she did was take apart our brand new kitchen facet head--and then let lose the extended hose from the inside of the faucet. To say that I was upset was an understatement. We called her boss (Jewels) who said that they could try and get a plumber tonight or tomorrow, and that the agent would have to pay.

(So what that we wouldn't have the kitchen sink to use.) Well, my husband and I fixed the sink finally, and Jewels asked me if I always get this upset over everything. No, just when an *** comes into my three week old home and takes apart something that she has no idea what she is working with. Then, yes, then I get really upset. Avoid Eco Water and Bueno invitations.

BAD BUSINESS!

Buyer Beware

We recently bought a home with an Eco Water Softening System installed. The home is 3 years old.

We also happen to know the sellers. We've had 3 service calls, one to replace the resin, all of the calls are related to leaks. We walk in the garage door and the floor is flooded.

We contacted the old owners and they said they bought the 'top of the line' system with patented life-time resin warranty.

After reading the warranty,I realized the company touts the superiority of their products but does not stand behind them in any way. The warranty expressly states the warranty is only in effect to the 'original' owner of the home. No warranty conveys to the new owner. This is not a true product warranty.

I own a small business and we sell prodcuts that are warrantied to the home where the product is originally placed, not to the person that purchased them.

The technician came out to our home and said that resin in our area due to hard water typically lasts 4 years.

Sadly, this company is not intersted in customer service nor representing themselves in an honest and fair manner to consumers. Buy from a company during these trying times that at least represents themselves with some integrity.

Dealing with the two local ecowater dealers is trouble some in the Dallas Ft. Worth area.

After a little investigating i found that the dealer in Ft. Worth is a former satellite tv dealer. The dealer in Grand Prairie is a former Kirby vaccum dealer. I strongly suggest if you have any problems with your Eco system that you call the corporate office and get a number for a local service rep.

that is not a dealer. They are not directly affiliated with Ecowater.

They perform quality service and they don't try to scam you.

I was told I only had to pay $50 a month for ten years and ge t product for the wash, dishwasher, hair each month for free. This system would purify my kitchen faucet and ice maker. Ten years times Fifty a month equals like a lot of money for a very little system.

Good thing I SMELLED A SCAM

Guest

@lisa: I compliment companies all the time on superior service. As a consumer, we have such little recourse, the least we can do is warn others before they are taken for a ride.

@texan: Thank you for informing us that for undisclosed reasons your company protects themselves against fraud. If only your customers were also protected..

@WQAPro: Actually, the manufact. warranty expressly states 'lifetime resin warranty'. Not sure if it's that particular model, etc. However, I am sure it is a service issue, as one of their technicians disclosed to me that I was probably not advised properly the first time around when they told me to replace the resin. My fault, won't happen again!

@Peg1949: Well, there was a valve issue as well, which has now been replaced 3 times. Once when they replaced the resin, and 2 x's after that when my garage floor was flooded. The coup de grace was when that last technician also stated that our valves had never been replaced, when I was staring at the charges from the previous service calls. Ouch. And yes, the previous owners would have loved to help me out; however, I had already called Eco and if I wasn't the original owner living in the home, the warranty was not extended to me.

Guest

Multiple leaks and fouled resin after 3 years sounds like physical damage or poor intallation/service to me. Here in FL, I have 3-5 ppm of chloromines (resin killers!) in my incoming water supply.

My resin bed is 6 years old and operating at full efficiency. The product you have is most likely not the root of the issue. Find a new service company! If you received a "resin warranty" then that did not come from ECO either.

That was most likely an B.S. "add-on" by the dealer.

ECO only warrants the mineral tank for a lifetime. And it also states "No ECOWATER dealer, agent, representative, or other person is authorized to extend or expand the warranties" Again this points to a shady dealer/retailer not the product or its implied warranty.

Guest

we at eco water do not transfer the warranty to prevent certain types of frauds in wich i will not disclose...

Guest

i love my ecowater system and have great customer service in fayetteville NC. why is no one talking about the good parts of compnaies anymore?

Guest

To: Eco Water Systems Complaint by Cvag---This reminds me of the old saying, "Your insurance is only as good as your agent." You have to ask yourself, "If there is a water leak, why would the resin need to be replaced?" What you had was a valve body issue (or a possible kinked drain hose). Did the previous owner leave the owners manual?

Did you look at the trouble shooting guide in the back? Why didn't the previous owner handle the warranty issue for you?

That's Life

Sometimes you get...and sometimes you get got. I was got. I don't need to write 100 words to say what I need to say. 100 word requirement is ridiculous. I was taken for a ride by the San Antonio, Texas Eco Water Systems branch and it's no one's fault but my own for allowing it to happen. I simply stopped paying on the unit I had purchased and took a nick on my credit report, however it was well worth it because I'm not gonna pay for something that I was totally scammed on. And that's just how that is. Now there's a 100 words for ya.

To the owner of EcoWater Systems of San Antonio...you have no complaints or service records because you ignored every issue I reported. I guess since they were ignored you didn't count them.

My drinking water was suppose to be filtered and it was actually worse than it was before I bought the system. The water that ran through my wash was eating holes in my clothing. The water coming out of my fridge was leaving white residue on the drain pan.

I don't know what was wrong with it...I just know I could never get a response from EcoWater Systems of San Antonio. For all of u other idiots...I had it disconnected and moved on with life.

Guest

For the person in Dallas. You should contact DFW Water Filtration in Burleson.

The owner is a former EcoWater Dealer and he can take care of all your issues. He is very fair and professional.

Guest

I purchased this system and called everyday for three months to get service on a filter and leaking pipe and after three months of not responding I quit paying! I'm still waiting for a call or email!

Ive left thousands of messages and haven't heard a thing so what's the point of having bought a $ 8,000 system for my newborn if it doesn't even work! It's on my credit now but I honestly don't care!

Guest

Making a complaint without particulars is just blowing off. And I call *** if you can't say why you quit paying...thats what the 100 words are for

Guest

How were you scammed? What was wrong with the system?

Guest

As the owner of EcoWater Systems of San Antonio, we list a Juanita Shults who financed a system that she bought from us in Feb. 2005.

We have absolutely no complaints from this person nor a service record on her. I can assure any one reading this that if she'd ever contacted us with any issue...we'd respond.

Maybe she DID quit paying & had a problem then with her credit.

I especially have an issue with websites such as this that list complaints without even giving the business that is being discussed notice that a comment is being listed. This should be entirely against the law.

Guest

I wish this complaint explained what happened. Sounds like you financed your system and quit paying it. Financing on any appliance would net the same result with failure to pay.

GE,Ecowater,Home Depot sell inferior water treatment devices

Purchased water treatment device from Home Depot with GE logo on it but made by Ecowater. It failed after 110 days so returning it was not available after 90 days.

Called GE and they referred me to Ecowater of Ocala,FL who came out and determined that the board was bad.Had to pay $79.for service call and wait 10 days for GE to send part to Ecowater. They returned with wrong board but it made machine run.Waited 12 days for correct board but it failed to recharge and they ordered new board which came in 31 days and was told board was ok but motor was bad. I paid 2 $79.service charges and $125. for labor?

Had to fax paperwork to GE for reimbursement and another 10 days for check.I am now waiting for Ecowater to return with motor ordered 4/15 and they first came on 2/4. Buyer Beware!

customers unit was fixed unit was repaired and customer recieved money back on repairs from wirlpool none of that would not have happened if the unit was hooked up to 110 volts by customer instead of 220.

Promise gifts but don't deliver

My husband entered a drawing at a home show for a truck. That's how this company got our information.

Then they contacted us and promised 8 free movie tickets for allowing them into our home to perform a water test. The salesman was in our home for a couple of hours. As others have said, he claimed he did not have the free gift movie tickets with him but promised they would come in the mail. It's been a couple of months.

The movie tickets have not arrived.

He claimed he was the son of the company owner.

Constant calls promising "free gifts" is a scam. High Pressure sales tactics more like it.

We have told this company not once, not twice but 3 times to quit calling and all this company does is tell my husband that they will keep calling until they come out to do a "free" testing of our water. Now it's become so bad that we are thinking of calling the police to finally get these calls to stop once and for all.

Eco Water Systems is sending out cards again....this time in Nashville TN. I called "EWS Parcel" and got a spiel about my water in a few minutes we talked about the weather and how I have reverse osmosis treated water, and that's unbeatable.

First I get an nice card with a note saying they were trying to get me by phone so please call us for your gift. I thought perhaps it was Welcome wagon since I had just moved here, no Welcome Wagons any longer it seems. Well the guy showed up, was here for more that 2 hours, and left without selling anything to me, yes it might be a good product but just moving here, could not burden myself until I am totally settled.

So, did not like the lies, the promise of a gift, yeah a dinner coupon you had to go to their office over and hour away to get it, then you would have been hit with yet another play for your money.

I have to totally disagree with all these negative posts- I bought my system 6 years ago in Ft Myers, FL- the salesman did smell like an ashtray and was a touch uncouth but nevertheless did an impressive demo- obviously a sales pitch but I knew the science behind it- I needed the system for the nasty water down here-his pitch was that it would pay for itself as we would not buy any products, dishwasher, washing machine, soap, etc.- I mused over this, dismissed it without care and I must say I am astonished- my Meile appliances functionally use tbls of product- I honestly have used 4 gallons of laundry soap in 5 years and my wife is a wash freak- so it depends on your local rep- granted they tried to sell me an extra RO unit for 1200 that I found online for 300- not cool but caveat emptor- G

High pressure sales tactics! They enter your phone number into an automated calling system that calls all day and all night. :( This system is nothing special and WAY overpriced.

I hope the people reading these complaints realize the EcoWater dealerships are independently owned and operated and any negative interaction with that individual local office should not be associated with EcoWater as a whole or your local office unless the complaint is specifically mentioning them.

Guest

This is the worst place to accept phonr calls from never accept the free gifts at the end of the phone call when the survyer says for helping us out I would like to enter your name for some """"FREE"""" gifts hahahahaha :grin thats where they get ya they sucker you in to it say no always say no trust me I know :p :p :p :p

I hate websites like these that focus on the small fraction of people who are unhappy. Ecowater has been in business since 1925 and there is only a small number of complaints.

think of a company you love doing business with and theres someone upset with them.

check out your local water treatment company and good luck. we went with ecowater of the south in fayetteville nc and was treated perfect.

To Mr. Bowman's experience: The previous dealer, EcoWater of the Desert, is no longer in business.

We appologize for any misrepresntations they may have made. We are the new dealer, EcoWater of Palm Springs. We DO NOT make promises of gifts, nor do we use strong arm tactics to secure business. We are a professional sales organization, as is our parent company, EcoWater Systems.

I'm sure that is one of the reasons why the previous dealer is no longer a part of the company. Please do not judge us by the previous distributor, give us a call, we'll be happy to answer any of your questions, all without any obligation or long sales speaches.

Ecowater SD 518

This water softener is not any better than the Whirlpool that you can buy at Lowe's. I've had both.

The only difference is that the Lowe's is whole lot less expensive. If you are going with Eco Water do not buy the entry level water softener. Either upgrade or go with the Whirlpool. The salesman himself admitted that it is about the same quality.

When I asked him then why purchase Ecowater he said it will require less maintenance. That is true so far (but have had for less than 2 years). It either pushes out way too much salt or barely any.

Adjusting the level does not help. This is strictly my opinion.

err 3500 is a softener too. The refiner softens and removes the chlorine.

Guest

You get what you pay for. I purchased the top of the line system from Ecowater which is ERR 3500 water refiner, not a water softener.

I am very pleased. Sounds like you didn't do your homework on which systems were best and warranties, etc. ERR 3500 has a lifetime warranty and I am very pleased with my refiner. For you cheap-skapes who try to buy the cheapest thing out there.....you got EXACTLY what you set out to purchase....the cheapest thing.

Why would you put a price tag on the quality of your family's water???? Buy the ERR 3500.....it's well worth it.
